Renewable energy is expensive because it is intermittent and often seasonal.
The sun doesn't shine at night and the wind doesn't always blow.
This means that renewable energy needs to be stored in batteries or other forms of energy storage.

This is expensive and inefficient.

Expensive energy traps millions in poverty.


THE TABBRE SOLUTION

Floating Solar Farms

Located in the oceanic gyres of the southern hemisphere


Tabbre intends to meet the world’s energy needs by creating vast oceanic solar farms.

These will consist of flexible lightweight floating structures made from recyclable plastic.

The oceanic gyres are deserted, largely sterile tropical waters covering tens of millions of square kilometres.

It is intended that the entire solar farm infrastructure will be fully automated using robotic AI.

When complete, there will be no requirement for new materials such as steel, aluminium and plastics because at the end of their useful life, every component will be recycled in fully automated and autonomous facilities.

Why floating solar?


Oceanic floating solar farms are much cheaper than land based solar:
  • Made of recyclable plastics
  • Use cheap perovskite PV collector
  • No cost for land
No environmental impact:
  • The oceanic gyres are deserted tropical waters with no plant life or fish
  • The oceans cover 310 million square kilometers
  • Only 0.3% required to meet today's needs
The energy from floating solar is super cheap:
  • Tabbre's energy will be less than $5 per MWh
  • For comparison: the energy in oil costs $50 per MWh


Why hydrogen, ammonia & methane?

Energy that can be transported and stored


Electricity generated by the floatig solar farms will be used, in situ, to electrolyse water to produce hydrogen.

This hyydrogen will be collected and converted to ammonia and methane. The methane, aka natural gas, will be produced using carbon captured from the sea and air in floating facilities near the solar farms.

The hydrogen, methane and ammonia will shipped to consumers as a clean, carbon neutral fuel replacement for fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and oil.

Making the vision possible


Tabbre is creating a cryptocurrency the TABB expressed on a new blockchain: the TabbreChain.

TABB is like Bitcoin in that it has a fixed maximum supply. A large fraction of all TABB will be held by a decentralized foundation, The Tabbre Foundation.

The Foundation’s TABB holdings will be used as collateral for debt finance to fund the development of these oceanic floating solar farms.

The sustainable energy generated by Tabbre will be priced and sold for BRE, a decentralized stable value cryptocurrency expressed on the Tabbre blockchain.

The Tabbre scheme is expected to be hugely successful and profitable.

All profits generated by the scheme will be reinvested into more renewable energy capacity until a target energy output is reached.

(GUBI)

Social cohesion and protection against confiscation


In the interests of social fairness and social cohesion and a protection against confiscation by governments, Tabbre intends to use a significant fraction of profits from the scheme to fund a global universal basic income (GUBI).

This will be distributed in BRE.

BRE’s role in paying the global UBI coupled with BRE’s role as the currency for trading energy will cause BRE to become a self-sovereign decentralized global currency.

The Tabbre Project will help transition the world from fossil fuels and establish a global decentralized financial system and in so doing will help end both the climate crisis and global poverty.
